Happy New Year 2015

January 03, 2015 in Blog

The Boulder: a New song for the New Year from Colleen Wainwright. (This has been kind of a tradition for me.)

Note:This song is frank in nature and might upset a few of you guys. (C’est la vie)

And yes, I posted the same video last year.

“A new year is upon us, it’s a time for hope and cheer. A chance to do things differently then you how you did last year.” Colleen Wainwright

The last couple of years I have set some goals. Let us see how I am doing.

  • I am going to restart my relationship with my daughter.  I feel so sorry for her.  She has been caught in the middle of a nasty situation and I want to make it up to her.

Yes, this is completed.  (As much as I can for a teenage daughter)

  • I am going to take a trip to New York City and do some street photography.  This has been on my bucket list for a while and I am going to make it happen.

This is a failure.  The goal is to leave work on a Thursday night and take the train and spent a day or two in NYC.

  • Going to continue taking Yoga classes.  (After my knee recovers from the minor strain)

Again I have failed this.  But on the plus side, I have started riding my bike.  I rode in the PMC and the NF ride.  (doing over 1,650 miles)

  • Going to network more.  Both in my professional life as well as my personal.

I have done this.  I need to do a little more of it thou.  I have joined a Photography Meetup Group and having fun.

  • I am going to have a gallery show.  I am not sure where and/or when but it will happen

Complete failure.  I might be getting a gallery show at the Griffin

  • I am going to be more appreciative of the little things in my life.

This is a work in progress.  I am going to read the book the Four Agreements

  • I am not going to sweat the small shit any more

This is a work in progress.  I am improving. (see above)

  • I am going to continue to nurture that inner peace that I recently found. I am liking the new me and I do not want to go backwards.

Same here.  There is always room for improvement. (see above)

  • I am going to eat healthier.  I have been doing this lately but there is always room for improvement.

Failed here.  Even thou I have been riding a lot, still gained weight.

  • “The meaning of life is to give life a meaning.”  I know that is more a statement than a goal but I think it has an important message.

This is a work in progress.

  • I am going to study Buddhism.  I have been doing this a little and want to continue. (this will help with my inner peace search as well)

This is a work in progress.  I am currently reading Buddha Walks into the Office.  I also have lined up Buddha Walks into a Bar and Walk Like a Buddha.  All of these books are written by Lodro Rinzler.  You should check him out. Plus I have countless other books to read.

  • I am going to blog more.

I failed here.

Over all I am pretty happy with what I accomplished last year.

Goals for 2015.  (Hell or high water these will be done)

  • I am going to take a trip to New York City and do some street photography.  This has been on my bucket list for a while and I am going to make it happen.
  • Going to take some Yoga classes.
  • Going to network more.  Both in my professional life as well as my personal.
  • I am going to have a gallery show.  Hopefully a solo show.
  • I am going to play with my Christmas gift from last year.  I had an old camera converted to Infra Red and plan on having some fun with it.

Thanks for visiting and happy shooting!
